How to install Google Analytics Tracker on your WordPress Blog?


I already wrote an article on Google Analytics. If you missed that, here you can find it. What is Google Analytics? I recommend you to must have a look on it before this. Google Analytics is a service from Google to track your Blog stats for free. You can track your Blog visitors, online users, your visitor locations, eCommerce sales, referring websites and much more. You can find much more details on Google Analytics in my previous article. Lets move to the next step, that how you can install Google Analytics tracker on your blog.

How to install Google Tracker on your Blog?

You required a google account. If you don’t have yet, you can get one for free. Simply go to google and signup for a new Gmail Account. Once you signed up for a google account go to Google Analytics.


Sign in with your Google Account. Now you will be able to see a big Sign Up button, Click on it.

Now Select the tracking method, I prefer to go for Universal Analytic,  Type your website name, URL, Select the Category, TmeZone, Account Name and once you fill all of the required boxes, click on Get Tracking Button.


Click on Get Tracking button, and google will provide you the Tracking code and UA ID.


Ok so here you got the tracking code and UA ID from GA. Now you have to add that tracking code into the each page of your blog before </body> tag. The easy way to do this is to go to your theme option and there you can add that code. Lets get into the details of installing Tracking code into your blog.

How to add GA Tracking code into my blog?

Login to the Dashboard of your blog. Install the plugin “Google Analytics“. If you don’t know how to install plugin, read the article below.

Once you install the plugin, Go to the Settings >> Google Analytics. Paste your UA Id in the box and click on the Save button.


The UA-ID has now been added, Now its time to add GA Tracking code. Go to your Themes Options, Find Footer Code Adding Option, every theme have this option, Paste your Tracking Code into footer code box and click on the Save Changes button.


Ok Congratulations, you have successfully installed Google Analytics tracker on your Blog. Now you will start getting results in 24-48 hours. You will not get results immediately.
