What is Sitemap? How to create WordPress Sitemap?

sitemapA WordPress Sitemap is a list of pages of a blog, accessible to users. It is the table data of all of the pages and posts of a website or blog. Sitemap help users to view all of the website/blog links on a single page. There are two types of Sitemaps. 1. XML Sitemaps 2. HTML Sitemaps When we work on WordPress we use XML sitemaps, because it auto updates with each new post and also it tells the search engines about the posts , pages and links on your blog. It is in well structure format, and a user doesn’t need to see it. XML sitemaps help search engine bots to find all of the links on your blog easily. Sitemaps can improve your Search engine Optimization. You must create an XML sitemap of your blog.

Google introduced sitemaps for the bloggers to create the whole links map on a single page, which help Google, Bing, and Yahoo crawlers to crawl your website easily. It also allows you to find any link on your blog.  All of the search engine have same type of bots, So the sitemap is really helpful for all of the Search Engines. It can increase your SEO ranking thrice times more then before. You have to create the sitemap for your WordPress blog and submit it to Google Webmaster Tool and Bing Webmaster tool in order to get quick indexing of your Posts and pages. How to create WordPress Sitemap using Google Sitemap Plugin

First of all login to your WordPress Dashboard Go to Plugins >> Click on Add New >> In the search box type Google sitemap plugin >> Hit the search button. google sitemap plugin installation Once the plugin installed, activate it. Now go to Plugins >> Find Google sitemap plugin >> Click on the settings button below it. google sitemap settings On the Settings page Just checkmark Page and Posts. Leave all the fields empty. Ok now Google Sitemap has been installed on your blog you can find your sitemap on this URL [www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml] by default. Now you have to submit your blog sitemap to Google Webmaster and Bing Webmaster. We will cover it in the coming posts.   I hope this article will help you.
